How Can I Help?

Donations

It costs £15,000 a month to run Emmanuel. We have to raise all that money ourselves locally, it doesn’t come from the Government or the Church of England. This covers:

      • Ministry costs: Clergy pay, housing and pension
      • Building costs: Maintenance, utilities and insurance
      • Administration: Office costs for operation of activities
      • Service costs: Direct costs of services
      • Other: Outreach and other costs
While we hold fundraising events and rent out the church, one of the foundations of finances is the tremendous support we get from our congregation through regular donations.

How to Donate

We recommend the Parish Giving Scheme portal. It reduces our administration, improves our budgeting process, and helps us collect Gift Aid (an additional 25%).

How Much to Donate

This is clearly personal however the following may help:

      • The historic guidance from the Church of England is that people should consider donating 3% of their disposable income (income after tax and household bills).
      • Some people have found it easier to compare the amount they give to other disposable costs such as coffees or gym membership.
If you have any questions contact Geoffrey Shaw (emmanuelchurchgiving@gmail.com), our Parish Giving Officer.
