CHILDREN’S CHURCH

Every Sunday during term time during our 10.30 am Sung Eucharist

Children's ChurchEmmanuel Children’s Church takes place during our 10.30 am Sung Eucharist during term time for children four years old and above.  The children begin the Eucharist in Church, singing the opening hymn with the congregation, joining in the penitential rite and singing the Gloria before processing out behind a beautiful simple cross made by a member of our congregation.

In Children’s Church the children follow the season of the Church’s year and theme of the Gospel reading for the day, but explore it through craft and other fun activities which we hope will both engage and excite them as they grow in their faith.

The children return to Church in time for the distribution of holy communion or for blessings and then, during the notices, share with the congregation all that they have been doing during their time together that morning.

After the final blessing, dismissal and recessional hymn, they also much enjoy juice and biscuits at the end of the service.

Our Children’s Church co-ordinator is Claire Hammett and we are always looking for more volunteers to help with this growing part of our life and ministry here at Emmanuel.  If you’d like to help in this way we’d love to hear from you through the “contact us” section of this website
